# Q Universal Installer

We have a new installer that will allow SYSADMINs to download the installer one time and keep it some where instead of having to download a new installer every Quarter

# Downloading the Installer

  1. Open your browser navigate to the website.

You will need to log in to access any of the downloads. Click Login If you have not registered you will need to.

  1. Populate your username and password

  2. Click Login

  1. Hover over Client Tools.

  2. Hover over Information Center.

  3. Click on Downloads.

  4. Expand Licensed Software

Please note the Highlighted warning.

Click on the blue link to begin the download. As you can see in the image below the Virus protection has caught it.

Navigate to the Windows Security – The images below are for windows 10 so your screens may look a little different.

Click on Protection history.

A pop up will ask if the Windows Security settings can make changes to the computer. Say yes

  1. Select The most Recent Threat blocked.

Choose the down arrow to choose an action.

  1. Select Allow

  2. A pop up will ask if the Windows Security settings can make changes to the computer. Say yes

  3. You will have to redownload the file at this point, but it will now allow to install to complete.

# Running the installer

  1. Once the installer is downloaded navigate to its folder location and Double click on it. The following screen will open.

  1. Enter your Q username

  2. Enter your Q Password

  3. Enter your Agency key (we will provide you with this. If you are a QMobile Agency, the Key you use there will work here. Note: You must have valid Q Credentials and the users must be allowed to download thru the API.

  4. Click Next The software opens a screen asking where you would like to install the software. Unless otherwise instructed you will always want to just leave the default.

  1. Click Next

    The screen that opens next asks where to install the shortcuts. This is also set to a default and unless required you should leave this be.

  1. Click Next. The Next Screen is asking if you would like a desktop short cut and or a Quick launch short cut. The desk top selection is defaulted if you do not want one added to the desktop on the machine then make sure to deselect the check box.

  1. Click Next.

    This screen tells you it is ready to install the software. And its destination locations.

  1. Click Install. The following screens will be seen while the install is running.

  1. You may get the an “error” when installer attempts to install Century Gothic fonts in you already have them installed on your machine. See screenshot below. If you do get this, you can click “Skip this File”.

Once the installation is complete the following screen will appear.

  1. Click Finish.

The software will begin to open. A few fields in your connection information will be automatically set during the log in process. Do not be concerned by the notifications.

Click OK. The software will continue to load.

  1. Click OK. The Log in Screen will appear.

Enter your username

  1. Enter your password. (if no password has been provided the user will be required to set one at this time)

  2. Click Login. You will get one more notification letting you know your connection file has been updated.

  1. Click OK.

At this time the users Default dashboard should load. And documentation can commence.

Please note

It is crucial that the Crystal Prereqs Installer must be run on the machine for the reporting pieces to fully function.

Installing the CASPer Crystal Reporting application

  1. Once you have downloaded the file Run “CASPer Crystal Reporting Prereqs.msi”
  2. Make sure to pick everyone for program installation
  3. Use defaults for rest of installation.

# Final Steps

Test login is SYSADMIN

Please call a Quantum support technician to receive your agency password.

Make sure program launches without errors. If you receive errors, please contact your Quantum Project Manager for assistance.

Note

It may be necessary to set program exceptions for any Windows or Network Firewalls as well as any Anti-virus or security programs. If Quantum appears to freeze or hang-up when logging in from the client, firewalls or network security programs may be the culprit. Set Q.exe and QLoader.exe as exceptions to any existing network or Windows firewalls. If your anti-virus, security program(s), firewalls, or network experiences any updates or changes, please be sure to check that Q.exe and QLoader.exe are still set as exceptions.

Q.exe is the actual software application used with full permissions available to edit, alter, and configure the program. QLoader.exe is the program that automates the update process for Q.exe.

All other Quantum users should have Q.exe installed with the desktop shortcut pointing to QLoader.exe.

All Quantum users should have full read, write, and modify permissions to the CASPer directory and all sub directories as described in the Security Settings for Quantum Document
